Meet Baby

This is Baby:

Once upon a time...
There was a boy on a boat halfway around the world in Australia. He had been writing a nice girl in college in Texas and decided to send her a little stuffed koala from his trip down under. She named the little koala Snugly Critter and thought it was so cute. Fast forward a few years later. Boy and girl are married and a fire destroys all their possessions. Including Snugly Critter. She cried. That little koala was so special to her. Boy and girl visit the zoo in San Diego and Boy buys girl a new koala. Girl doesn't know, but when this new koala was purchased she was already pregnant with a sweet son. Son is born and falls in love with this koala. A couple of years later when his little sister is born he finally chooses a name for his friend: Baby.
Baby helps Son cope with not having Mommy's attention all the time. When Mommy takes care of little sister, Son takes care of Baby. Good care. And sometimes Baby goes to school with Son...and church...and the grocery store...and all kinds of places. And Baby teaches Son. Baby teaches how to be gentle, how to love and defend someone smaller, less powerful. Baby teaches empathy and kindness. And Girl smiles every time she sees Son learning from Baby.
But Baby taught us all. We have learned that even when God destroys the old, sometimes the new is far better than you ever dreamed it could be.
